KAIST-Neviworks Co., Ltd. Signs MOU for Advancing Artificial Intelligence in Various Industrial Fields

【Today Newspaper Reporter Kim Min-soo】 KAIST Artificial Intelligence Research Center (Director Choi Ho-jin) and Naviworks (CEO Won Jun-hee) signed an MOU for joint research on AI technology development.
The two organizations signed the MOU on the 2nd and agreed to cooperate on ▲ joint research projects for AI technology research and development ▲ mutual cooperation in recommendations and recruitment for securing excellent AI talent ▲ other necessary matters to achieve the common goal of supporting AI technology acquisition projects.
KAIST, together with approximately 50 professors from the Department of Computer Science who are experts in AI, plans to create synergy with essential computer engineering fields such as software engineering and human-computer interaction with various related education and AI, natural language processing, and knowledge graph technologies under the vision of human-centered computing.
Established in 2000, Naviworks Co., Ltd., a company active in the fields of virtual reality education and training and intelligent control, plans to advance its O2O (Offline to Online) service that provides hyper-realism and hyper-connectivity to various fields of human life, from the defense/public sector to general industries, in line with the business environment evolving into the Metaverse environment.
The signing ceremony was held with the attendance of KAIST Dean of Computer Science Ryu Seok-young, Director of the Artificial Intelligence Research Center Choi Ho-jin, and Naviworks Co., Ltd. CEO Won Jun-hee, as well as other executives and staff.
Professor Choi Ho-jin of KAIST said, “I believe that this will be a good opportunity for Korea to become an artificial intelligence powerhouse in many ways as advanced talents and technologies in the field of science and technology meet real industries,” and added, “I hope that the two institutions will be able to make a mark in the field of artificial intelligence through active industry-academia cooperation.”
Naviworks CEO Won Jun-hee said, “Based on the establishment of a joint cooperation system with KAIST, various collaborations and exchanges will take place in the future,” and “We expect this to become an exemplary case of creating great synergy in the field of artificial intelligence between academia and industry.”
